Go Teams are a tangible enacting of 127 Worldwide’s Mission, Vision, and Distinctives. As the redeemed people of God, we all join his work in caring for the vulnerable and restoring hope to a broken world. And as members of the global body of Christ, we collaborate in that work to spur one another on in love and good deeds.

Our team collectively has decades of experience mobilizing short term teams. We work with vetted and trusted travel agents and local leaders to create a Go Team itinerary. From international airfare to on the ground logistics, 127 Worldwide takes care of every detail to ensure you have a safe and valuable experience. Our team leaders receive additional training and are equipped to share their knowledge with you on the field.

Connect and Equip Teams

Connect Teams

Equip Teams

Connect Teams are designed to promote education and exposure that fuels action and advocacy. The experience of visiting a 127 partner affords our advocates a greater understanding of the work local leaders do year-round. Team members return equipped with the knowledge and awareness to effectively leverage their networks at home on behalf of what God is doing through local leaders to restore hope to vulnerable communities. This is our most programmed trip and is open for all to apply.

Equip Teams are skill-based teams that utilize specific expertise and qualifications to build capacity in local leaders as they help vulnerable communities to flourish. These teams could be anything from pastors training other pastors to a cow farmer helping to launch a sustainable business. All of our Equip Teams seek to promote asset-based development, which means that our projects are partner-driven and capitalize on the existing vision, strengths, and efforts of local ministries and the community. You can apply for an Equip Team by invitation only.

FAQ

Am I qualified to apply for a Connect Team?

Whether you have been on a short mission trip or not, if you have a heart for international missions, a Connect Team is a great way to learn more about what effective and healthy global partnerships look like. Don’t expect to go and do as much as you go and learn. You will learn about the work of 127 local leaders, walk alongside them in their ministry activities and learn from 127 Go Team Leaders about healthy engagement and best practices in vulnerable community care. Most importantly, you will come home equipped to advocate on behalf of the local leaders you meet and have a new perspective on healthy engagement with the vulnerable.

How much does a Go Team cost?

That depends on the trip. All trips costs for Connect Teams are published when the application window opens.

What does the cost of a Go Team include?

Go Team costs are estimates and include international airfare plus all on-the-ground expenses such as food, lodging, ministry expenses and transportation. International airfare is estimated at the time that the application window opens and is based on traveling through specific gateway cities. This price could fluctuate based on market prices and any personal expense incurred to reach the gateway city. All other costs are fixed costs. You will see which costs are for airfare and which are fixed costs.

Can I fundraise for my trip?

Yes! 127 Worldwide has all the resources and tools you will need to effectively fundraise for your Go Team trip costs. We walk alongside you every step of the way. 127 Worldwide is a 501C3 organization and all donations are tax deductible.

When are funds due to travel on the Go Team?

A non refundable application fee of $50 and a non refundable trip deposit of $250 are due before full application approval. There are 3 fundraising deadlines. The first deadline must be enough to cover international airfare and is due approximately 3 months prior to travel. The total amount is due approximately 3 weeks before travel.

What is the minimum age to travel on a 127 Go Team?

The age minimum is 13. The applicant must be 13 on or before the date of travel. Anyone 13-17 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Anyone under the age of 18 is subject to an additional interview to ensure they are ready to travel on an international trip and interact in a vulnerable community setting.

What should I expect after I apply?

127 Worldwide has an application process that includes filling out an application, paying a non refundable application and deposit fee, submitting references, and a background check. A 127 Worldwide team member will be in touch with you to schedule a time to speak with you about your application and answer any questions.
