Welcome to Gentle Heart Foundation!

Gentle Heart Foundation (GHF) is a nonprofit organization founded and driven by compassion for orphaned children, sexually exploited young women, and vulnerable communities in Nepal. The foundation’s name reflects its commitment to providing assistance with a caring approach. GHF focuses on serving impoverished communities in Nepal, particularly women and children, guided by a deep sense of empathy and God’s love for all people. Since its inception in 2002, GHF has been dedicated to the welfare and development of orphaned and destitute children, women at high risk or survivors of trafficking and gender-based violence, and entire communities suffering from poverty and hunger.

Meet Arjun D.

Arjun grew up in Gorkha, Nepal. After losing his mother at the age of 11, he and his two younger sisters faced the challenges of growing up without parents. At 12, he and one sister moved to an orphanage, while their youngest sibling was cared for by a family member. God grew compassion in his heart for vulnerable children through his life experiences. As he grew up, his heart of compassion and love for the vulnerable in Nepal grew. He recognized that systemic poverty and high risk for trafficking among women was prevalent within certain communities and groups of people of Nepal. He felt called to serve among these communities and people groups.

About the time he met his wife, he sensed God’s calling and started a ministry to address the very things God laid on his heart, now called Gentle Heart Foundation.

Now based in Kathmandu, Nepal, he is a devoted husband to his wife, with whom he has shared 21 years of marriage. Together, they are parents to two biological daughters, one in college and the other in high school. Arjun’s experiences have shaped his deep compassion and commitment to serving others, fueling his mission to bring hope and restoration to vulnerable communities.
